Welcome to PureZest
Wellness programmes within organisations are often health related and run separately to work related programme in much the same way as we see the mind working separately from our bodies or cognitive learning being separate to sensory learning.
Pure Zest specialises in Executive Wellness Coaching for organisations who want to get the most out of their leaders and for leaders who want to get the most out of their personal and professional lives.
What is Wellness?
Wellness is more than just disease prevention. Wellness is a state of “FLOW”, a feeling of energy, enthusiasm, confidence, clarity, purpose, fulfilment, courage, empathy and contentment. A state in which people perform at their best.
TheNational Wellness Institute in Winsconsin describes wellness as “an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence”.
Harvard Business Review (Berry, Mirabito, Baun Dec 2010) describes workplace wellness as “an organized, employer-sponsored program that is designed to support employees (and, sometimes, their families) as they adopt and sustain behaviors that reduce health risks, improve quality of life, enhance personal effectiveness, and benefit the organization’s bottom line.”
What are the barriers to Wellness?
Behavioural Barriers to wellness include: Stress, anxiety, fatigue, burnout, irritability, tension, lack of sleep, breakdown in communication, conflict, lack of confidence, smoking, poor health.
How can these barriers be overcome?
We have identified 6 key areas of development that can lead to a state of wellbeing or “FLOW” and use coaching as a tool to improve them.
- Work – How fulfilled, inspired and motivated are you in your current role?
- Community – How strong are you at Communicating, collaborating empowering and co-creating with others?
- Spiritual – When last did you do something meaningful or purposeful to serve others? What does being authentic and mindful mean for you?
- Physical – How often do you feel Healthy, Stress free, pain free and energetic?
- Emotional – How easy is it for you to manage impulsive behaviour or negative emotions? How, sensitive, empathetic and compassionate are you towards others?
- Wisdom – Wisdom requires insight, clarity, courage and “broad picture thinking”. How has wisdom shown up in the decisions you’ve made?
